Saturday 28th December – walk *** - NT - Stourhead – sunny.

To break up our journey to deliver Arlo’s large John Deer ride on tractor at his house in Ewhurst we stop off at the NT Stourhead. We have visited here twice earlier this year so know it well and it was very busy. On showing our membership cards to get in we were told that the house was closed and the garden shut at 3,30 which left us plenty of time to walk around the lake. There were loads of light set up in the theme of the 12 days of Christmas, all a bit Disney. We later learned later that you had to book to see the light show and it cost £18, members had to pay too, we were glad to miss that one as the lights we saw yesterday were included in our membership! We then continued our journey and soon got caught up in heavy traffic on the A 303 and completely missed out on seeing Stone Hendge but saw Stone Hendge. We make it to Sayers Croft, Ewhurst knackered and have corned beef for tea plus a bottle of bucks Fizz:)
